Can I join the visual petition even though I'm not a surfer?
Definitely!! We want to encourage everyone to enter the visual petition, young or old. When coming up with the original concept for the visual petition we wanted to represent the voice of the greater surfing community, united in a common cause. Now as more and more people have joined us, we find ourselves representing people from all over the world who are passionate in our plight to stop commercial whaling and dolphin slaughtering once and for all.

What sort of photo do I upload?
t's pretty easy.. what we are trying to achieve is a huge visual petition banner that will be presented around the world as a statement of support for all whales and dolphins.
So, what we need is either :
1. A photo of x1 person holding up an image of a whale / dolphin
2. OR a photo of x1 person holding up a written message protesting the whaling (nothing too aggressive please, we are sending a message of compassion, not hatred)
3. OR a photo of x1 person with something dolphin or whale-like within the image
Some people have been really creative on how they have represented their connection with the visual petition, so don't feel you have to be bound by convention!

I'm having trouble uploading my petition.. what can I do?
Here are some things to try:
1) Check that your file is a .jpg or .jpeg image file.
2) Check the size of the file you are uploading. If it is over 3 Megabytes, the upload will be rejected.
3) Check that you have "Read" permission on the image file.
On an Apple Mac, right-click or control-click the image file on your hard-drive, and choose "Get info". Under "Ownership and Permissions" make sure you can "read" the file.
On a PC, right-click the image file on your hard-drive, choose "Properties" and click "Unblock" if that option is available.
4) If you are at an internet cafe, there may be restrictions on uploading. Please ask your internet cafe attendant if this could be the problem.
5) If none of the above works, please send us an email at info@visualpetition.com with a detailed, step-by-step description of exactly what happened when you tried to upload your photo, along with what browser and operating system you are using.
6) If you are only trying to upload one or two petitions (and none of the above solutions are working), you can email the petition photos, along with all of the other information required in the upload form, to us at info@visualpetition.com

Is there anything else I can do to help?
At the moment, we are trying to get the word out to as many people as possible. Here are some things you could do to help if you are interested:
- forward the eflyer to everyone in your address book to raise awareness
- get lists of any group or organisation that would be able to spread the word and email them the attached e-flyer
- finally, if you know of anyone in regions where our message isn't so strong then you could inform them of our website and encourage them to look into the current issues that are being faced
